RotG OC April Showers

So a bunch of people really liked my first drawing of April Showers, an OC I made after seeing Rise of the Guardians. I made a quick reference with some info. Be prepared because I have much information on her below. I enjoy backstories...I have no idea why lol


April Showers is not a Guardian, she have pretty much come to terms with the fact that she likely never will be. She appears as a young girl and her normal height is a little under 5'. Her feet rarely ever touch the ground or any surface. Her hair is tangible, more dense than mist but less dense than water, like liquid clouds. Her hair will sometimes precipitate depending on her mood. She is most energetic during Spring and Summer and tends to become tired during the Fall and Winter months.

Because she is not a guardian she doesn't have too much control over her more complex power, controlling the weather. She can help floral bloom and grow faster than normal but it takes energy. She is able to fully become the same material as her hair and has very limited abilities to extend or change her shape while in this "cloud form." She also can shrink in size.

April was chosen as a personification very early in her life when she was 4 years old. She died lost in a forest during the first few days of spring when it was still very cold. She fell asleep under the full moon and never work up until she became April Showers. She has very few memories of her time before.

April is a very patient, caring, and mild mannered individual. She finds a way to love everyone and enjoys being in the company of others, whether they can see her or not. She has come to the sad conclusion that children will never see her but tries not to let that get her down. A few years ago April made a deal with Bunnymund, agreeing that if she could try and keep the skies clear on Easter, she would be able to help him prepare for Easter through the year. She tends to come and go from the warren helping Bunny or sleeping during winter and fall, it has become a normal occurrence that the warren is used to.

Out of the other Guardians, April doesn't see or know well. She is in awe of Sandman as being the oldest of the 4 Guardians and has only met him a few times. North and Toothiana scare her because they are so intense so she avoids them. She also tends to be drawn to Pitch who is very old among the personification flock, and she feels that he understands what it is like to be alone. Sometimes she will drift in his realm, Pitch only tolerates her because he can't get her to leave permanently and that she rarely ever speaks or gets in the way.




That's it! I'm sure there's more but it's late and time for sleep. I find the whole idea behind this universe fascinating. I'll eventually try and read the books to get a feel for the history behind it. Expect more RotG drawings!
